The Star Wars Saga in 3D!

Q. How do you improve on a already successful movie blockbuster?

A. You stick a '3D' on the end of the title of course.

Yes that's right, George Lucas has jumped on the 3D phenomenon band wagon by announcing his plan to re-release the complete Star Wars saga in wonderful 3D format. And sooner than you think.
Personally I can not wait, having been a Star Wars fanatic for as long as I can remember.CLICK HERE

This announcement did get me thinking however. How many more directors are going to give their blockbuster movies a 3D make over? I can name a number of movies I wouldn't mind watching in 3D, and I'm sure you can too.

OK Go new video

OK Go has earned considerable fame for their creative but often low-budget music videos, most which have been promoted through Internet video sharing sites like You Tube many of these have become viral videos. The internet went link-crazy in 2006 and the band shot to stardom thanks to their "here it goes again" video. This video was so successful with over 50 million hits on You Tube alone that they were invited to perform the sequence live at the MTV music awards in 2006.

They have since had success with a string of other viral videos, now this is their latest video for the release of their new single "white knuckles". Unlike the previous videos this has been filmed in 3D using to separate cameras. The band are relying on its viral appeal since they were recently dropped by their record label EMI.

Here are a few more of their videos

Breast Cancer Awareness

These posters were created as part of the Singapore Breast Cancer Awareness campaign 2010, I came across these posters whilst on my honeymoon.
Artist Andy Yang  used painted body art to remind women and men about the need for perspective when it comes to breast cancer. The message is clear, " are you obsessed with the right thing?". Encouraging women to have their breasts checked on a regular basis.
Visually I thought it was a modern and trendy way of delivering a very important message which is sometimes considered a taboo subject to talk about , it gets people talking for all the right reasons and without being too gratuitous.  Maybe this approach could be adopted to communicate other socially sensitive topics?

Changes in the way we puchase video games

Whilst searching the world wide web for material to blog about I came across this click here on the BBC news website.
I am sure you are all aware of the impact music downloads has had on the music industry and the fact that downloading now dominates the way we purchase our music. According to this article it seems to me that video gaming is going down the same route.
